The analysis of change in selected functional properties of plastic films as a result of aging process

One of the basic attributes of packaging films relevant to their destination is value in use is defined as the degree to which a set of properties of the materials placed it meets the requirements for their use. The desired level of value in use of packaging film may be obtained by proper selection of production methods, extrusion parameters and raw materials used, but efforts to achieve this level cannot be limited solely to the sphere of production.
Packaging materials after their manufacture, they are subject to aging, which result in irreversible changes in them affect the performance of the utility value. Therefore, an important issue is to analyze aging processes occurring in packaging materials made of plastic, which aims to identify changes in their performance over time and to determine the resistance of materials to various weather factors initiating the process of losing value. Knowledge of the essence of the mechanisms of aging processes, knowledge of the factors affecting the course of these processes and to analyze changes associated with aging are important from the point of view of behavior by plastic sheeting specific range of values of performance during storage and use.
