Thermoplastic composites with glass polyester recylate

Summary

Glass reinforced polyester materials are used in a wide range of applications such as the automotive industry, aerospace and wind turbines. The current and future waste management and environmental legislations require all engineering materials to be properly recovered and recycled.  The aim of this paper was to demonstrate the possibility of obtaining of new polycarbonate composites with the glass-polyester recyclate. This should contribute to reducing of the environmental pollution. The influence of glass polyester recyclate on the some properties of polycarbonate composites with waste have been tested. It was observed that an addition of recyclate to polycarbonate composites cause an decrease in the tensile strengths and a decrease in the glass transition temperature.
